Ca. 1857. Pencil, watercolour and bodycolour on paper ca. 16,5x24 cm (6 ½ x 9 ½ in.). A very good watercolour. Original attractive watercolour sketch from a series of sketches made by Captain Dominick Sarsfield Greene for his "Views in India, from drawings taken during the Seapoy Mutiny," Thos. Maclean: London, 1859. Provenance: Sir Alexander Moncrieff (1829-1906) and thence by descent. "Rawalpindi .., is a rapidly growing city in the Pothohar region of northern Punjab, Pakistan. It is located only 14 kilometres (9 mi) south from the capital city of Islamabad, in the province of Punjab" (Wikipedia).
